Practical Pistol

The Allen County Practical Defense League (ACPDL), was formed in 1978 from a group devoted to the advancement of practical shooting, The group takes all action necessary and proper to the advancement of this style of shooting. Practical shooting is that form of shooting that simulates, as nearly as possible, the conditions under which heavy duty firearms are intended to be used, and conducted so that the relative skill of the shooter may be determined.

Practical Pistol Matches shot from concealed carry, are held (usually) the frist Saturday of the month. We shoot rain, shine, snow, or ten degreeze below zero! Practical Long Gun Matches (shot Gun, Rifle, or Precision Rifle) are scheduled also. Although most of our members are lng time FWR&R members, it is not a requirement. We welcome individuals of good character.
